Hello, I’m Coach Jermayne Hamilton, husband, father of three, and founder of The JumpShot Academy and The JumpShot Brand. My mission is to inspire and equip the next generation through basketball, faith, and purposeful action.

Basketball didn't just change my life, it saved it. I grew up playing baseball and football, but when I found basketball, everything shifted. It gave me a reason to stay focused and a way to rise above the challenges around me. It became more than a game, it became the foundation for my future.

Over the past 20+ years, I've coached, played, and mentored hundreds of athletes. A big part of my journey has been shaped under the guidance and mentorship of Coach Casandra Hamilton, whose influence pushed me to grow as both a coach and a leader. Together, we’ve helped lead teams to multiple Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen appearances, as well as Region Championships. But more importantly, through that experience, I’ve been able to help young people find direction, confidence, and purpose on and off the court. That’s what matters most.

Before social media and online training platforms, we learned from watching NBA legends. I studied players like Allen Iverson, Michael Jordan, Steve Nash, Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi, and Candace Parker. There were no tutorials, just live games and video clips. We'd memorize a move, then run outside to try it for ourselves. That's how I developed my passion, and it's how I learned the value of discipline and repetition.

Today, you have access to resources we never had, such as apps, detailed breakdowns, trainers, and global exposure. While the game has evolved, core values remain unchanged: work ethic, accountability, and consistency still distinguish the best.

The JumpShot Academy was built to instill those values. It's not just a basketball program, it's a leadership platform. We focus on physical development, mental strength, and life skills. Our athletes leave with more than just a jump-shot, they leave with an ”I can do it attitude”. Carrying that same mentality beyond the court, the JumpShot Brand was created as a natural extension of our mission. It's not just apparel, it's a badge of discipline, character and expression.
